Jesse Thorn is the creative force behind “The Sound of Young America.” He launched the show during his sophomore year at the University of California, Santa Cruz, nurturing it from college radio original to podcast powerhouse. He also produces and hosts several other podcasts, each of which is available via his Web site, MaximumFun.org. These include the comedy talk show “Jordan, Jesse GO!” and “The Kasper Hauser Comedy Podcast,” which was cited by iTunes as one of the best podcasts of 2006.

Thorn is currently a board member of the Jhai Foundation, member of the Jhai Foundation, an NGO dedicated to reconciliation-based development. He performs nationally with the sketch comedy group Prank the Dean and lives in Los Angeles’ Koreatown.
