After abandoning the hardscrabble, hand-to-mouth life of an electrical engineer for the stability of a career in standup comedy, Andy Wood has become a major contributor to Pacific Northwest comedy. He has performed with greats such as Janeane Garofalo, Patton Oswalt and Doug Benson, and is an alumnus of the Bumbershoot Arts Festival and the Seattle International Comedy Competition. As the producer and co-founder of Portland’s annual Bridgetown Comedy Festival, he’s brought national focus to an emerging comedy scene while getting to spotlight some of the best comics working today. Andy is as excited about the lineup of the 2009 Bentzen Ball as he has been about any of the previous Bridgetown fests, and is glad to be able to lend a hand in helping Tig and BYT bring this incredible lineup to the people of DC.
